🥩 Locally Raised Grass-Fed Angus Beef Available! 🥩

My cousin raises Angus cattle near Farber, Missouri, and recently sent one in for processing. I’ve already committed to ¼ of the animal myself, and another ½ has been spoken for, but there is still ¼ of the beef available for anyone interested.

This is locally raised, grass-fed Angus beef with processing customized to your preferences.

A quarter beef will yield approximately 90 pounds of packaged meat, including:

✅ ¾-inch Ribeye Steaks
✅ ¾-inch New York Strip Steaks
✅ 1¼-inch Filet Mignon Steaks
✅ Ground Beef (packaged in 1- or 2-pound packages)
✅ Tenderized Cube Steaks
✅ 2-3 pound Roasts
✅ Brisket

Cost Breakdown:
• Beef Share: $630
• Processing: Approximately $250
• Total: About $880

That works out to roughly $9.78 per pound for premium grass-fed Angus beef.

When you buy a quarter beef, you’re getting all the cuts—steaks, roasts, brisket, cube steak, and ground beef—for about what many stores charge for ground beef alone. Plus, you know exactly where your beef comes from and how it was raised.

Free delivery to your door (in Lee’s Summit only). Expected to be ready the week of June 22nd.

We’re excited to share that the guest house at Hobby Hill Farm will soon be available for short-term stays!

Over the past several months, we’ve been working to prepare and furnish the house so guests can enjoy a quiet country stay here on the farm.

We’re still putting the finishing touches on everything, but we’re getting close and wanted our local friends and neighbors to get a first look before it officially launches.

The house will be available for:
• Weekend getaways
• Family visits
• Mid-term stays
• Travelers visiting the Kansas City area

We’re hoping to create a relaxing place for people to enjoy the beauty and peace of the property while also sharing a little bit of life at Hobby Hill Farm.

More photos and details coming soon!

Looks like we caught a swarm of honeybees in one of our swarm traps!

Honeybees swarm when their hive becomes crowded and the colony is strong enough to split and reproduce. Before the swarm leaves, the worker bees raise a new queen by feeding selected larvae a special diet called royal jelly. The old queen then leaves the hive with thousands of worker bees to find a new home, while the newly developing queen stays behind to take over the original colony.

Swarming is a natural survival instinct that helps honeybee populations grow and spread to new locations.

Looking for an experienced beekeeper in the Lee’s Summit, MO area interested in partnering on a local honey project.

We have a 22-acre farm and would love to produce authentic, locally made honey under our farm’s label. I have some beekeeping experience, but with everything I have going on, I’m looking for someone experienced who can properly manage and grow the operation.

Open to different arrangements:
• Profit share / honey share
• Paid management arrangement
• Partnership
• Lease/setup arrangement
• Other creative structures

We’re flexible and looking for the right long-term fit with someone passionate about beekeeping and producing a great local product.

If interested, send me a message with your experience and ideas.

Dear friends and neighbors,

We are reluctantly sharing that we won’t be opening the pumpkin patch this year due to family obligations that need our full attention right now.

This decision wasn’t easy, especially knowing how many of you expressed to us how much you enjoyed it last year. We’ll miss seeing all of your smiling faces this season, but please know how grateful we are for your continued love and understanding.

Wishing you a beautiful, cozy fall filled with all the things that make this time of year special.
