My mother made the best pound cakes and we couldn't get enough of them. Sadly my mom passed away June 5, 2014, but before she passed, she told me she was putting a cookbook together for me and writing down her secrets. I never received the book, because the book came up missing. I sat in my kitchen and cried because that book was something that she wanted to leave me, it was her words, her handwri
ting, a bit of her soul. While I sat and cried, the recipe came to me and I immediately started to writing it down. I made her pound cake and I was so excited that it tasted like hers. I was listening to a radio station KLOVE and they were asking for the annual donation from businesses. I didn't have a business but always wanted one, so I donated under the business name Pound Cakes from Heaven. I had no idea where that came from but the holy spirit because I cook, I don't bake often but I can. I had to quit my job as a supervisor to help with my family so I had no idea where the money would come from but God will provide so I prayed that day Lord you must have a plan. I posted my cover page of food on FB and a friend noticed my pound cake, she asked to purchase one and I posted that her cake was ready. In that first week, the week I donated, the week I prayed, the same week of Mother's Day weekend, Pound Cakes from Heaven was created. Now I can share my mom's recipe for her moist, fluffy pound cakes with all. The taste is simply heavenly.
