Hi fellow adventurers and matchaholics!

One of my New Year’s resolutions have been to show up on here more deliberately and thoughtfully.
I’ve been of the mind that staying in the background and putting the business up front was the right way to post on social, but I’ve come to change my mind. And truthfully, I feel a lot more comfortable in the background. But all this is changing this year, and damn the comfort zone!
I run this business, so you should know who you’re talking to. 💁🏻‍♀️

So first things first: I founded Kenshō for 3 reasons.

1. I couldn’t find an amazing tasting matcha. They were all grainy, bitter, clumpy. Then I finally did. And shortly after, the pandemic ruined that business. So I decided to take things into my own hands.

2. All the matchas I see in stores are sold in these small tin cans or plastic bags, which are terrible for the environment since they don’t recycle. I opted for paper boxes and since I’m a graphic designer I made them (hopefully) prettier than all the rest.

3. I’ve wanted a product business for years, and it took me about 4 of those to finally go for it.

A couple things you should know about me:

• I’m a nomad by heart and new places are constantly calling my name
• I obsess over pine trees and architecture
• I’m *extremely* food motivated
• I have an adorable Aussie shepherd (who you can occasionally spot in my stories)

The BEST Matcha Puppy Chows ✨

We’ve browsed through a handful of recipes before finding the best one - a huge shout out to for creating this!
We just had to make it and share 🥰

They are an *addictive* snack (we may have to rename them to Matcha Crack) and only takes about 10 mins to make!

All you need is:
• 4 TB heavy cream
• 1/2 TS honey
• 1 cup white chocolate chips
• 10g premium Kenshō matcha
• 4 cups Chex rice cereal
+
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 2g premium Kenshō matcha

HOW TO MAKE

1. Melt the white chocolate, heavy cream and honey - you can even microwave it in 15 sec increments for a total of ~2 mins.

2. Sift the matcha into the chocolate and mix

3. While still hot, pour the mix onto the chex and fold gently to combine - and set aside

4. Mix the sugar and 2g matcha in a separate bowl

5. When the chex have cooled a bit, pour them into a large ziplock bag and add the matcha sugar, and shake to coat evenly.

It’s ready to serve when cooled a bit! Make sure to refrigerate in an airtight container.

Brand new whisk vs 2 year-old whisk 🙈

If you find yourself with a new chasen and have questions on best care practices, read on.

How to care for your new whisk in 3️⃣ 👣:

1. After you open your new whisk, soak it in warm water for a few minutes to allow the bristles to soften.
Pro tip: soak the whisk before each use to keep it elastic.

2. Air dry on your chasen stand with the bristles pointing down.

3. Wash after each use, otherwise they will develop mold!
Pro tip: rinse with hot water, and don’t ever use soap!
