Black Sheep Farm Black Sheep Farm grows natural colored and white Merino sheep with dense, uniform, long-stapled fine-wool fleeces and correct conformation.

We focus on fall-lambing ewes and a breeding program that allows expression of recessive color genes.

Lena, the new Maremma puppy, starts to bond with her flock. Day 1 was lambs saying "Yikes, what the fleece?" Day 2 was, "Oh, is it time to eat yet?" Ivan, the [now ex-] bottle lamb, was the first to warm up. Next was the 4-month old twins, then the 8-month old replacement ewes, each deciding she was okay.

Ha-ha. Actually, I'm fine with sheep vet bills. Not with the bills from the corporate-owned small animal vet practices, whose staff I have to correct (with barely concealed irritation) when they call my dog a "fur baby." Grrrrr.
