What’s in season now in the Midwest? Elderberry flowers!! As you drive by natural places you can spot these beautiful white umbels of the elderberry shrub.
There are many uses for these flowers. I like to dry them for tea. We have only one shrub in our garden so I am careful not to over harvest the flowers, leaving plenty to develop into berries for the birds and to use to make elderberry syrup.
