🥬 HERE COMES FIRST HARVEST! 🥬 JULY 2, 11AM-5PM @ THE COUNTRY MARKET // This Sunday we’ll be bringing our first harvest of Russian Red and Lacinato kale to the Country Market, hosted at @fabbioliwines. We’re beyond excited (and incredibly nervous)! Swing through this Sunday from 11am to 5pm at 15669 Limestone School Road to catch the New Ag Schools’ Country Market (and, don’t worry, Fabbioli’s tasting room will be open, too).
Working with the land and weather sure requires it’s fair share of patience. Entering the small-scale farming community comes with its own frustrations and anxieties, as it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed and comparative to longer established farmers with great infrastructure and production cycles. For us, every little success means the world as we get our feet under us. We are growing everything in-field; where good soil, summer rain, and our pollinators are our best friends. Fighting against the heat waves, air quality, and pests gives us chances to learn something new each time. Are greenhouses/tunnels in our future? Yes! We’re not there quiet yet - and that’s ok! Our running mantra right now is “fingers crossed” as we keep trucking along.
