We have some exciting news to share! 🥂

Aimee Henkle, co-owner of Lost Creek W**ery and Echelon W**e Bar, has been selected for the James Beard Foundation’s 2026 Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (WEL) program and named an Evelyn Bernstein Fellow!

For more than a decade, Aimee has been part of Loudoun’s w**e and hospitality community—building Lost Creek and Echelon while also working alongside fellow w**eries, restaurants, tourism partners, and the Loudoun W**eries & W**egrowers Association to help strengthen and elevate our region.

This year, she joins just 21 women entrepreneurs from 14 states selected for WEL. Together, their businesses generate $49 million in annual revenue and employ more than 500 people.

The program is presented by the , one of the country’s most respected organizations in food and hospitality, in partnership with Cornell University, WEL brings established women entrepreneurs together for advanced education, leadership development, business strategy, and collaboration.

For Aimee, it’s an opportunity to learn from an extraordinary group of women while focusing on the next chapter for Lost Creek and Echelon—strengthening the businesses, continuing to grow as a leader, and building the strategy and relationships for what comes next.

Being selected for this national program and awarded the Evelyn Bernstein Fellowship is an incredible honor, and we’re excited to share the news with our community.

Harvest the Fun: Lost Creek’s Fall Calendar Is Bursting with Possibilities!

The 2026 vintage in Loudoun County has been a season of contrasts, testing the vineyard early and rewarding patience as harvest approaches. Bitter cold in late January left its mark on our Merlot and Tannat blocks, while the devastating April freeze, though mercifully sparing our vineyards, brought heartbreaking losses to friends and colleagues across the region. July followed with a relentless heat dome and heat indexes nearing 120 degrees, but August and early September have offered a welcome shift: gentler warmth, measured rainfall, and the cool nights that help preserve freshness and balance in the fruit. Through it all, vineyard chemistry has been remarkably compelling, and the quality emerging from the vines has us genuinely excited. At this early stage, 2026 is shaping up to deliver luminous, vibrant whites and deeply colored, plush reds with beautiful freshness and energy.

As the vineyard moves into harvest, we invite you to celebrate the season with us at one of the many special events we have planned throughout the fall.

More exciting news for Lost Creek!

Our 2021 Tannat and 2023 Blanc de Blancs followed up their success at the Loudoun W**e Awards with Gold medals at the 2026 Atlantic Seaboard W**e Competition.

And there’s even more to celebrate: our 2023 Blanc de Blancs was named Best in Class! 🥂

We’re incredibly proud to see these w**es recognized and grateful to everyone who continues to support Lost Creek. Cheers! 🍷

🍇🍷 A beautiful evening celebrating veraison with our Terroir to Table dinner series.

Owner and w**emaker Todd Henkle shared an update from the vineyard and walked guests through what’s happening in the vines as the grapes move through this critical stage of ripening.

The vineyard is looking great, and as harvest gets closer, Todd talked through what he’s watching in the fruit, how ripening is progressing, and the decisions that will ultimately shape the upcoming vintage.

The evening continued with a seasonal multi-course dinner paired with Lost Creek w**es—and these dishes were delicious.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a night celebrating the vineyard, the vintage, and the journey from vine to glass. 🍷
