Tom Farms

Tom Farms Tom Farms is a multi-generation, family owned organization firmly planted in fertile prairies of North Indiana.

Tom Farms has evolved into a global crop production, sales and service company and industry leader. Today we are one of the leading suppliers to Monsanto’s seed production supply chain. Agriculture, by nature, is an unpredictable business. Ensuring the shipment of more than 30 million pounds of seed corn, 100 million pounds of corn, 13 million pounds of soybeans, and 27 million pounds of tomatoes

each year requires innovation along with careful planning and quick thinking. Providing our customers with exceptional service is just the way we do business at Tom Farms. We do it by utilizing superior technology, round-the-clock vigilance and flawless execution—to lower costs and increase efficiency, combat weather and disease, and nourish the land—all while maximizing the productive capability of every single acre.

Fertilizer isn’t just another input—it’s a cornerstone of food security.

This white paper (in the comments) takes a hard look at the challenges facing global fertilizer supply chains and what those disruptions could mean for American farmers, crop production, and food prices. It also outlines potential solutions to strengthen supply, improve logistics, and ensure farmers have access to the nutrients they need when they need them.

Whether you agree with every recommendation or not, the conversation is one agriculture needs to be having.

Take a few minutes to read and consider the implications for U.S. agriculture, rural communities, and our nation’s food supply.

Sunset views from the grain leg at CereServ and a reminder of what this season is all about.

The seed corn is popping, the rows are turning green, another crop is taking shape, and we hope to finish planting soon! It’s been a challenging spring, but moments like this make the long days worth it.

Flaming starts today.

This process helps stunt the growth of the male corn just enough to widen the pollination window and improve timing in the field. We use a specialized “Flamer” tool equipped with LP tank to create the pulse of flame that makes it happen.

Another unique step in producing next year’s seed!

still getting after it. It’s been a challenging spring with the weather and breakdowns trying to slow us down, but our team keeps pressing on.

Long days, late nights, and a whole lot of determination. Proud of our team and the work getting done every day!

From the farm fields of Indiana to national television, Kip, continuing to stand up for American agriculture and rural communities.

In a world with endless information, opinions, headlines, and noise, it’s easy to let belief, emotion, or repetition outweigh actual evidence. That applies to all of us.

One thing agriculture has taught me is that reality eventually shows up. Weather, markets, yields, input costs, policies—facts matter. Outcomes matter. Evidence matters.

Good reminder to stay curious, ask questions, and be willing to challenge even the things we think we know.

These were too good to stay on our story!

Long days, a few breakdowns, and all 5 planters still rolling. Spring planting season at its finest.

Monday definitely acted like a Monday!

A few tillage breakdowns tried slowing us down, but all 5 planters are still rolling and seed corn is going in the ground. You fix it and keep moving this time of year. 🌽

Planting seed corn today, not just growing a crop, but growing next year’s seed.

Pretty amazing to think every pass across the field is part of what farmers across the country will plant next season.

Thankful for a good window, great conditions, and the opportunity to do what we do.
