Gap Spring Farm has one stall open for full board. Family owned and managed, we are a quiet drama-free environment where you can relax and enjoy your horse. Amenities include: H\C wash stall, heated\AC tack room, 12x12 matted stalls, large outdoor ring with all-weather footing and lights, small turnout groups on luscious green fields, access to hundreds of acres of ride out and a convenient location in Leesburg just minutes from the Greenway. No field board. No cribbers. No crybabies or drama queens. $500/month.

Great opportunity for someone! GSF is looking for a working boarder. That's right, free board at our fabulous facility in exchange for working 5 days a week cleaning stalls, turning out and feeding. Since we are a five stall barn, its basically an hour a day for a spacious rubber matted stall, H/C water wash stall, arena with lights, temp controlled tack room, trails and lush green pasture. Reliable transportation is a must and references required. We are family owned and laid back while expecting excellent care--if you think you might be a good fit, contact me. Drama queens need not apply. And also cribbers, sorry--I know there are some awesome horses that just happen to crib but I just can't aggravate my husband with chewed up fences and stalls!

Looking forward to seeing Peach show at Upperville in the local mediums. She has improved with every ride and is so smart! And we have Adam riding her so that is always a good time. I'm excited to share that Dale has become half owner of Peach and she is now the beneficiary of all his wisdom. No matter the outcome, we all look forward to having a good time-Dale has missed the pony ring and I'm thrilled to have him by my side :) It is so much fun to watch a pony you bred grow up and learn its job. It is really fun to have a great professional believe in your pony too. When you add Amy and Peter, along with Nicki who broke her, its a dream come true for me. I now know why breeders do this-Go team Peach! :)

Congrats to Peach and Adam-yesterday at Summerplace winning the hack in a large group of beautiful movers! For her first show of the year, Peach was a very good girl! Thanks to everyone at Woodhall for making it happen :)

Many thanks to Jill Adler and her daughters, Julia and Jesse, for letting us borrow their lovely pony, Flame for summer camp this year. He was awesome as usual--our #1 camp pony favorite!!! We were sad to say good-bye but I'm sure he will have so much fun fox hunting this fall!!!

I would also like to give a shout out to camp assistant Adam Edgar and former camper Maya Lombardo--good luck at Rosemount this weekend! Adam got a great opportunity to ride a pony in the medium greens and Maya is doing the regular Small ponies with her pony Jack. Good Luck kids!!!

Another week of camp wrapped up--happy kids, great attitudes and I wouldn't mind if a couple of the most passionate pony lovers came back for lessons. Two girls in particular stand out--so in love with the animals, so eager to do anything we asked of them, so happy to be here! They are the kids that only get to ride at camp and they hold onto these memories so tightly and it sustains them for the whole year. They walked into the barn, remembered every pony's name, could recite their favorite craft from last year and woke up every hot morning early ready and dressed to come to camp. I remind my helpers of this every week--that some of these kids will remember us their whole lives and we want those memories to be great ones!! How many times in your life do you get to make a lifetime memory for a kid?? We're quite lucky indeed...

Kids are all gone--ponies are bathed and happily munching hay. Cleaned up the house after Taco-in-a-bag lunch and glad the rain held off til after camp all week. This was a great bunch of kids and I will miss having them here!

Wow--can't believe that tomorrow is last day of camp. I feel so privileged that the parents entrust their kids to me for a week--i really love them all. On the other hand, I'm tired, and so are the ponies :) We have had so much fun this week--the riding progress has been amazing--I wish this same group were here all summer :) We can just add the newbies on as the weeks progress :)

Camp assistant Adam Edgar and Damingo could not be stopped! 1st and 2nd O/F and 5th in the hack for Small/Medium Children's Ponies, Reserve Champion! Camper Maya Lombardo 4th and 5th O/F in the sm/med Children's ponies! And this is a recent pairing! Congrats to both of our GSF "buddies" HITS Culpeper next week! GO Peach and Adam and Nicki and Cartier (special thanks to our friends at Stonegate Stables for allowing Nicki to show the lovely Cartier!)

Well--I don't know about the kids--but I'm having a great time at camp this week. So fun to watch how much better they get when they ride every day! And the kids are so funny with their jokes and observations! Will be sad to say good bye to them tomorrow!

Camp Assistant Adam Edgar and his pony Damingo were Reserve Champions in the Maiden out of 25 entries! and even better Champion in the Local Small/Medium Ponies! Good Luck tomorrow in the Schoolings and Children's ponies! Congrats also to friend, Ali Gilbertson, Champion in Limit Equitation out of 20--winning BOTH over fence classes! Getting ready for our first week of Summer Camp starting Monday--we have a great group of kids, a great group of helpers and assistants, wonderful ponies to ride and all-new crafts! Today I attempt to make the crafts myself--hope I still think they're great when I'm done-LOL!!

GSF is organizing a trip down to Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue for a day or two of volunteering. They are currently taking care of 54 horses--many of them formally abused and most were malnourished. "Shotgun's" story was the one that got to us most--but they all need help! Let me know if you want to come down with us--or can assist here at home while we're away.
