Dear Valued Friends and Patrons,
My name is Michelle Anderson, and I am the proud owner of Anderson Pumpkin Farm LLC, also known as Anderson Farms Pumpkin Patch. Eighteen years ago, I had a dream of building a small pumpkin patch to provide something fun for children and families to visit. At the time, my daughter Payton and son Jack were toddlers. Being a previous school teacher, I turned my dream into a reality and created a learning experience for school field trips and weekend activities to offer my community a pumpkin patch and a place to create wonderful fall memories and traditions. I loved decorating for all of our local businesses and our beautiful Old Vernon Parish Court House downtown for families to enjoy.
At Anderson Farms, our pumpkin patch has been a place where families come together to enjoy the beauty of the season and we have always taken great pride in being a welcoming and compassionate part of your lives. Being a member of The Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce, as well as an active member of The Military Affairs Committee, we supported local businesses and Fort Johnson formerly known as Fort Polk.
However, this year has presented an unexpected challenge. Another entity has taken advantage of our hard work and the reputation we’ve built over nearly two decades. They are using our buildings and structures without our consent, misleading the public by painting a false narrative, and scheduling events under a different name, falsely claiming to be under “new management.” I just received a bill today being charged under my Anderson Farms account for pumpkins. My good friends in Floydada, Texas informed me they had no idea this order was not placed by Anderson Farms Pumpkin Patch.
This situation is disheartening, and it’s important to you, our loyal customers, to know the truth. Due to the deceptive actions of this other business, I regret to inform you that Anderson Farms Pumpkin Patch will not be able to open this year as planned.
I want to assure you that I am actively addressing this issue to protect the integrity of our business and the questions and concerns that have caused confusion. The actions of this other business have created potential liabilities, which I take very seriously. My team and I are committed to resolving this situation swiftly and justly.
I want to express my deepest gratitude for years of your support. Anderson Farms Pumpkin Patch is more than a business; it’s part of our community, and it’s built on the values of honesty, family, and fun.
Thank you for your understanding and together we will overcome this challenge. My team and I are looking forward to continuing the valued Anderson Farms Pumpkin Patch Fall traditions.
Warmest regards,
Michelle Anderson Owner, Anderson Pumpkin Farm LLC
