🍔🔥 Freshly Prepped… STILL THE BEST DAMN BURGER IN SWFL! 🔥🍔
Let me tell y’all a little story about last night, because THIS deserves some recognition!
Most of you know Freshly Prepped Food Truck, formerly owned by Sam and Adam, who have since sold the business as they begin their next adventure opening Firebelly Burger Co. in Babcock Ranch!
Now, Sam and Adam have always known personally that they served up one of my FAVORITE burgers in SWFL. And when I found out they sold the truck, I was almost UPSET! 😂 Not because I wasn’t happy for them, but because the selfish side of me was screaming “BUT WHAT ABOUT MY BURGERS?! I WANT MY BURGERS!” 🤣🤣
We’ve been anxiously awaiting their new restaurant, but last night something happened that I absolutely HAVE to share.
We were set up alongside Freshly Prepped with the NEW owners, who I might add were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and just genuinely great people!
Earlier in the evening, I had mentioned I wasn’t feeling too well but was hoping I’d eventually feel good enough to eat. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen until HOURS later.
As we were packing up, my wife mentioned they had dropped off some burgers for us to take home.
Now listen… I had been CRAVING one of these burgers ALL DAMN DAY! 😂
By the time I finally got home and felt well enough to eat, that burger had been sitting for hours. I was honestly a little bummed because I wanted that fresh, hot, straight-off-the-truck experience.
But whatever. Into the microwave it went for a couple minutes.
I sat down, took my first bite, and…
UH…… HELLO?!?!?! 🤯🍔🔥
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!
Y’all, this burger tasted like it had JUST COME OFF THE TRUCK!
When I tell you this thing was built to ABSOLUTE PERFECTION, I mean EVERY. SINGLE. WORD.
The flavor, the quality, the construction, EVERYTHING!
I was literally sitting there in AWE.
And here’s why this matters so much to me.
Being in this industry, I’ve watched businesses change hands countless times. Sometimes the food changes. Sometimes the quality slips. Sometimes the entire experience just isn’t what it used to be.
And sometimes, even when NOTHING changes, customers have a hard time accepting new ownership simply because they’re not seeing the same familiar faces.
I’ve experienced this personally taking over someone else’s venture. It’s a HUGE responsibility, and there’s ALWAYS a risk.
But THIS? This is how you do it RIGHT. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sam Starr and Adam Akers, I’m going to say something directly to you both.
YOU SHOULD BE DAMN PROUD.
Not just of the business you built, but of the knowledge, recipes, standards, and structure you were able to pass down to the next owners.
Because last night, those burgers BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER just like yours always did!
And to the NEW owners of Freshly Prepped…
YOU GUYS ABSOLUTELY CRUSHED IT! 🔥
You can tell when people genuinely care about the product they’re putting out. You can taste the pride, the attention to detail, and the commitment to keeping something great… GREAT.
You didn’t just purchase a food truck. You took on a reputation, a loyal following, and a standard of quality that people have come to expect.
And from what I experienced last night, THAT LEGACY IS IN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HANDS!
I’m beyond happy for ALL of you.
Sam and Adam, I have ZERO doubt that Fire Belly Burger is going to be another incredible success story, and I cannot wait to walk through those doors!
And to everyone who loved Freshly Prepped before the ownership change…
GO SUPPORT THESE NEW OWNERS! DON’T SLEEP ON THEM!

Sometimes the greatest compliment you can give a business isn’t just about how good the food is.
It’s recognizing that someone built something so special that even after they walk away, the quality, the passion, and the legacy continue.
THAT is something worth celebrating.
