Thursday I dig a approx a 100 foot trench with my backhoe attachment on the Kubota L5701. The struggle is real when trying to master a skill without getting to practice regularly-just a trench a year if I’m lucky. Two joysticks each with eight positions that can work in tandem with one another. Here I am trying my best! I got it done, did not run into any significant barriers and even installed a temporary “shade structure” with a ratchet strap and half a folding table top! This trench will house the electric from our packing shed out to our new well. It’s sad that it’s not a mega producer, but more water is better than less. Stay tuned to see how it all performs. Hopefully we get to irrigate with it before the season ends!!

Also on this very Tuesday I forgot to go to my chiropractor appointment after work. To think I would have eaten cheese and crackers for dinner (again) instead of kale potatoes and edamame, I’m so glad I did! Whoopsie

My friends: it is tomato time.

We have “splits” or “seconds” at $2.50/pound of a variety of greenhouse grown tomatoes for sale by order; we also have two pound boxes at $7 and cherry tomatoespints for $4 for sale! Come by the farm store for that and three kinds of melons and SO much more!! It’s summer!

Leftovers lunch: Coleslaw (every day is coleslaw right now!!), zucchini and corn pakora (fritter) and a ripe peach with salt on top. Our table is a mess, it’s stinking hot outside but we all have to gas up before we go : D Make it tasty
