Happy Thursday fishy friends… This is a post I really don’t want to make. I need to share some news with y’all after not feeling so well, I went to my doctor… After ultrasounds, MRIs, and biopsies they discovered a 4.5 centimeter tumor in my uterus. I have been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma grade 2 uterine cancer. Everything in my life is changing so quickly after receiving this diagnosis. It has been overwhelming and scary. Cancer not only affects your health, but it also impacts every single part of your life. I’ve always worked so hard to support myself through my business and it is truly my pride and joy. There’s nothing I love more than seeing my customers each weekend serving great food and connecting with the people who have become more like friends. Right now I am doing my best to put on a brave face, but the truth is that I am a little scared, heartbroken overwhelmed, and exhausted. I am struggling with some very tough decisions trying to get things in order, trying to figure out how this is all going to work without losing my beloved Little market stand. I have some amazing family, amazing friends and amazing customers trying to help me navigate this tough situation. Please don’t feel bad for me. I can do this! We can do this! But things may look a little differently for a period of time. My surgery is scheduled for September 21. I will have some procedures before then and other visits I need to take care of. After the surgery I will find out if I need to have chemo or radiation. I will open as much as I can. But I’ll be honest, it is going to be tough. After surgery, I will no longer be open on Tuesdays until further notice. Fridays and Saturdays, I will do what I can. Somedays we may need to close early and somedays I will not be able to open at all. Ideally, closing for the first three weeks in October may need to happen. Unfortunately, financially, this will really put me on the struggle bus and in a tough situation. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I am OK for now and appreciate each and every one of you. I will have a little peach ribbons at the stand that represent uterine cancer. I would be honored if you wore one when I had my surgery. Cross your fingers and toes and a little prayer never hurt anyone. 😊 And please come by the stand and buy some food! I’m sorry I’m rambling. If you have read this far thank you so much! I do have a GoFundMe set up as my dear friend Keith of Sherri’s Crab Cakes (some of y’all know I have been the Office Manager for Sherri’s for 12 years! And purchased the stand from them)suggested that may help. I’m a little embarrassed about it and quite honestly having a difficult time asking for help but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. The link is at the bottom of this post! It should take you directly to it. Please do not feel obligated!! Stopping by the stand helps just as much!! I love you all. Thank you for making my little stand feel like home. Love your favorite Mermaid Marci 🥰
