🌟 Student Spotlight: Samuel Peterson 🌟

Meet Samuel Peterson, a senior at Lena High School and a standout student-athlete who has been making an impact both on the field and on the farm.

Samuel has competed in football, wrestling (serving as a team captain), and baseball throughout his high school career—all while helping on his family’s dairy farm, Peterson’s Dairy. His days often start before sunrise and end late at night, balancing feeding animals, schoolwork, and practices.

The Peterson family has been farming since 1973, growing from 50 cows to today’s 1,200. Samuel plays a big role in the operation—caring for heifers, pushing in feed, working in the fields during planting and harvest, and lending a hand in the shop. His favorite parts of farm life are working with animals and driving tractor.

Beyond school and the farm, Samuel is active in 4-H, NHS, and Electrathon. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, showing animals at the Oconto County Youth Fair, and spending time with friends. One of his proudest accomplishments has been building his own show herd and watching it compete successfully.

After graduation in 2026, Samuel plans to attend UW-River Falls to major in Agricultural Business with a minor in Dairy Science—before returning home to continue the family tradition on the farm.

Last week our team had the pleasure of working with Dan Hagenow Video Creation, LLC and two of our partner herds in Wisconsin to capture new photos and video focused on calves, colostrum, and the maternity pen! Thank you, Shiloh Dairy LLC and Peterson's Dairy LLC for being great spokespeople and for partnering with us on this project!
