🐐❤️ Senior Goats Deserve Love & Care, Too!

When you commit to keeping a goat for its entire life, you also have to be prepared to care for them as they age. And just like us, that includes taking care of their joints!

Meet Coco and Fonzie! 🐐❤️

These two were our very FIRST goats, originally brought home to keep my horse Macy company. And let me tell you, they are still our BEST goats! 🤣

I'm convinced it's because they were raised with horses and genuinely believe they're horses themselves! 🐴😂 No jumping fences, no getting stuck in ridiculous places, and none of the usual goat shenanigans. I sure wish we had more like them!

As they've gotten older, we've started paying extra attention to their joint health. One thing I've discovered is that finding joint supplements for livestock isn't easy! In fact, I've only found ONE!

So, we've gotten a little creative with how we give it to them!

🥣 Molasses + Oatmeal + Joint Supplement = Happy Goats!

We mix everything together, roll it into little treat balls, and they gobble them right up without ever realizing they're taking supplements! 😆

Coco and Fonzie have it MADE around here!

At Deer Run Farms, we believe that caring for our animals is a lifelong commitment. From their younger years to their golden years, they deserve the same love, attention, and quality of care. ❤️

After all, they've spent their lives bringing us joy. The least we can do is make their senior years as comfortable as possible. 🐐❤️

🍂🐐🐴🐾 A Little Farm Life Update from Deer Run Farms!

The pastures are still lush and green, the goats are happily browsing and breeding, our aging horses are still easy keepers and enjoying their golden years, and the dogs are loving every opportunity to roam the pastures! ❤️

There's just something about these beautiful fall days that makes you slow down, look around, and appreciate everything you have.

The fresh air, the changing seasons, the animals living their best lives, and the simple beauty of farm life🍁

It's not always easy, and there's always work to be done, but moments like these remind us just how blessed we truly are.

Life is good here at Deer Run Farms, and we wouldn't trade it for anything 🧡🌾
