Good Morning, Everyone!!!One of our fawns is doing exactly what nature taught it to do. Mother deer will often leave their fawns alone while they go out to feed. By staying away, they help keep predators from being drawn to the fawn.

Fawns are taught to stay as still and motionless as possible for protection. So if you come across a fawn that appears healthy and is quietly lying by itself, chances are it is perfectly fine and its mother is nearby keeping watch from a distance.

If you are unsure, please call the clinic and they can help guide you in determining whether the fawn truly needs assistance. Just because it may look like it needs help does not always mean it does. In almost every case, a healthy fawn is always better off staying with its mother.
