We keep getting calls about Labor Day weekend. We are hosting our annual The Blood Run at The Good Earth Farm , so no pizza night. Here's what you need to know:

**SPECTATORS β€” READ THIS BEFORE YOU COME OUT! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ**

The Blood Run is this weekend at The Good Earth Farm, and we'd love to have you out to watch. Here's everything you need to know:

**πŸ“ Where we are**
**28318 466th Avenue, Lennox**

Please put that address in your GPS. Do NOT navigate to Good Earth State Park at Blood Run β€” different place entirely, and people have been getting that wrong since 2013. (We kind of beat Google on this one)

**⏰ When to come**
Show up 30–45 minutes before a race start, or 30–45 minutes after one. This ensures that there aren't cars coming and going while the races start or runners arrive. Start times:

β€’ 48 hour β€” Friday at noon
β€’ 36 hour β€” Friday at midnight
β€’ 24 hour β€” Saturday at noon
β€’ 12 hour β€” Saturday at midnight
β€’ 6 hour β€” Sunday at 6 a.m.
β€’ 3 hour β€” Sunday at 9 a.m.

Every distance finishes Sunday at noon, so if you only come once, Sunday late morning is a good one.

**πŸš— Where to park**
Two spots for non-participants:
β€’ The pasture just in front of the house (west side)
β€’ The pasture behind the barn

One important note on that second one β€” the pasture behind the barn becomes part of the course during the final hour of the race. Watch for the course flags and plan accordingly.

**πŸ‘€ Where to watch**
The best viewing is near the barn, in the pasture south of the barn, or from the deck on the back side of the barn.

**πŸͺ‘ Bring a lawn chair**
Spectating an ultra is a sit-down sport. You'll want one.

**πŸ• Dogs**
Welcome, as long as they're under control.

**🚢 Course etiquette**
Don't walk on the course. If a runner is coming through, step aside and let them have the line. Keep kids and dogs close and off the flagged route. These folks have been out there a long time and shouldn't have to dodge anybody.

**🚫 One thing to avoid**
Please give the lap counting station a wide berth. Our counters are tracking every single lap for every runner, and a friendly conversation is exactly the kind of thing that makes a lap disappear. Say hi from a distance.

**🚻 Restrooms**
The bathrooms and porta potties are open to everyone β€” just yield to runners if there's a line. They've earned it.

**πŸ• Food**
Help yourself to the aid station spread or anything coming out of the hot kitchen (pizza, sandwiches, and more). It's not required, but if you eat, we'd ask you to consider a comparable donation to the Farm Animal Sanctuary. There's a cash box in the bar and another by the kitchen, or you can send it via Venmo.

**❓ Questions?**
Call or text Jeff Kirstein at 605-376-0819. Please don't ask the lap counters β€” see above. πŸ˜„

**πŸ“£ And most of all**
Cheer loud. These folks are running for up to 48 hours straight β€” a stranger yelling encouragement at 3 a.m. means more than you'd think.

See you at the farm!

If you're more of a wine person, try out one of Nancy's favorites: Ercole Pèt-Nat-- a natural sparkling wine that's perfect for a warm fall afternoon. 🍾

Jake will be here selling his honey.🐝

There are only so many summer nights left. Spend one of them here. 🌻

Come hungry, grab some fresh pizza, say hi to the animals, let the kids run around and stay awhile.

Sometimes the best plans are the simple ones.

Apparently working an organic vegetable farm wasn’t enough of an endurance sport. πŸ˜‚

So yes, we host an actual endurance race around the farm.

The Blood Run is a timed loop race with 3, 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 hour options, all happening right here at Good Earth Farm September 4 through 6.

Run through the fields. See how many loops you can conquer. Question your life choices somewhere around hour 12.

Registration is still open.

3 hours sounds reasonable.

6 hours sounds ambitious.

12 hours starts getting interesting.

And then there are the people who look at a 48 hour race around an organic vegetable farm and think, β€œYeah, I could do that.”

The Blood Run returns to Good Earth Farm September 4 through 6.

Choose your time. Run the 1.5 mile farm loop. Complete as many laps as you can.

Registration closes September 3, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, now’s the time.

Register through the link in our bio.
