There is some manganese showing up in city water recently and we are happy to help!
Here's the deal: Manganese is a naturally occurring mineral found in the rock and soil around our Tennessee lakes and reservoirs. When seasonal changes stir up the sediment at the bottom of these water sources, manganese dissolves into the water and makes its way into the city supply. (all this rain recently could be the culpret ;)
The surprising part? The EPA only classifies manganese as a "secondary" contaminant, which means it's a recommendation — not a regulation. So most treatment plants aren't required to remove it. They focus on disinfection which is important!
That's where we come in. 💧
Our whole-home filtration systems are specifically designed to catch what the city doesn't — including manganese, hardness, iron, sediment, and other contaminants that affect your water quality, taste, and the life of your plumbing and appliances.
If you're noticing discolored water, or your filters are clogging faster than usual — give us a call!
