Today, Caldwell Soil and Water Conservation District Program Specialist Jessica Wilson had the opportunity to speak at the Forest and Field Camp held at the Patterson Foundation.

Jessica spent the afternoon with the campers exploring animal pelts and skulls while discussing the unique habitats where these animals live. Through hands-on learning and interactive discussions, the children gained a greater understanding of local wildlife, conservation, and the important role healthy ecosystems play in supporting diverse species.

Thank you to all involved for hosting this wonderful educational experience and providing an opportunity to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards!

🌿📚Another school year is in the books, and what an incredible year it has been!

As the 2025–2026 school year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on how fortunate I am to serve as Caldwell County Soil & Water's Program Specialist. Year #3 has been filled with meaningful experiences, new opportunities, and countless moments that have reinforced the importance of environmental education.

To the students who eagerly participated, the parents who supported our efforts, and the teachers and educators who welcomed conservation education into their classrooms, THANK YOU. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to learning have made every lesson, activity, and event worthwhile.

I also want to express my sincere appreciation to my outstanding community partners, the Caldwell Soil & Water Conservation District Board and Staff, the North Carolina Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and my fellow conservation education colleagues across North Carolina. Your support, collaboration, and encouragement continue to make a difference and have played a tremendous role in my growth both professionally and personally.

As I prepare to celebrate my three-year anniversary this August, I am excited for what lies ahead. I look forward to building new partnerships, reaching even more students, and continuing our shared mission of protecting and conserving our valuable soil and water resources for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this school year such a success. Together, we are cultivating knowledge, inspiring stewardship, and creating a stronger future for our communities and our environment.

Here's to another great year of learning, growing, and conserving together! 🌾☀️

We're working to clean up our roadways.

Please join us on Saturday, May 30 for a roadside cleanup.

Let’s all do our part to help keep Caldwell County clean, safe, and beautiful for future generations! 🌎♻️

We’re working to clean up our roadways. We’ve formed a committee to identify ways to reduce litter along the county’s roadways.

Annually, the county uses approximately $70,000 from the landfill’s gasification program to pay contractors to pick up trash along the county’s secondary roads.

We’re also hosting a roadside cleanup on Saturday, May 30. Learn more about the cleanup at https://caldwellcountync.info/CleanCaldwell.
