Caldwell Soil & Water Conservation Districtโ€™s Program Specialist, Jessica Wilson, had the wonderful opportunity to attend the 2026 SE NACD Meeting held this past week in beautiful Cherokee, North Carolina!

With 250 conservation professionals and leaders from across the Southeastern United States participating, the meeting was an incredible opportunity to learn, collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen the partnerships that make conservation work possible.

A special thank you to the Team of North Carolina Supervisors, District, Division, Association, and NRCS staff who worked together to make this a successful and memorable event!

During the General Session, we had the opportunity to hear from several of our key conservation partners. Jessica was also honored to serve as an Education Session Moderator for a breakout session highlighting three impactful North Carolina educational programs: Districts Creek Week, Conservation Summer Camp, and Resource Conservation Workshop (RCW). ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ“š

We are thankful for the time spent together in the Lands of the Cherokee Nation, surrounded by fellow conservation leaders who share a common commitment to protecting our natural resources and educating the next generation.

Conservation truly takes a team. Across North Carolina and throughout our Nation, the relationships we build with fellow conservation leaders and partners become more than professional connections. They become a family united by our shared stewardship of the land. ๐Ÿ’š

Thank you to everyone who made the 2026 SE NACD Meeting such a meaningful experience!
Together, we conserve. Together, we educate. Together, we make a difference.

๐ŸŒŽ Happy World Conservation Day! ๐ŸŒฟ

Today, July 28, Caldwell Soil and Water Conservation District joins communities around the world in celebrating World Conservation Day and recognizing the importance of protecting the natural resources that sustain us all.

Conservation begins right here at home. Every healthy stream, productive farm, thriving forest, and well-managed landscape is the result of thoughtful stewardship and a commitment to caring for our land and water. Through partnerships with local landowners, farmers, schools, and community members, we work every day to promote conservation practices that strengthen our natural resources for future generations.

On this World Conservation Day, we encourage everyone to do their part. Whether it's planting native trees and pollinator-friendly flowers, preventing soil erosion, conserving water, or simply taking time to appreciate the natural beauty of Caldwell County.

Together, we can make a lasting difference by protecting the land, water, and wildlife that make our community so special.

The future of agriculture starts with today's youth. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿšœ

By investing in young people, we're cultivating the next generation of farmers, ranchers, conservationists, agricultural educators, researchers, and industry leaders who will help feed, fuel, and sustain our communities for years to come.

Whether it's through 4-H, FFA, local youth livestock shows, agricultural education programs, or hands-on experiences on the farm, every opportunity we provide helps inspire a lifelong passion for agriculture.

Let's continue to encourage, mentor, and support our youth as they develop the skills, knowledge, and leadership needed to meet the challenges of tomorrow. When we invest in our young people, we invest in the future of agriculture.

๐ŸŒพ Together, we're growing leaders, strengthening rural communities, and ensuring agriculture remains strong for generations to come.
