My review of Kristan Higgins Books latest soon to be Best Seller!
Kristan Higgins writes books like I imagine Van Gogh or Monet painted! Once I started this book, I could not stop! Even though I had to press pause a couple times because I just couldn’t take the amount of emotions I was feeling, I immediately had to pick it back up because I needed to know how the chapter ended! Lark is a character you root for…(and honestly, the doctor that I would want at my bedside because you know that she cares!) Dr Satan, aptly named, makes you want to scream, but also you see how his character develops over the course of the months he knows Lark.
Xe Sands narrates like she is speaking through Kristan! She just gets her style of writing . She can convey the emotion of the scene, but also make you laugh. In the next sentence. She encapsulates the characters full range of emotions. The other two narrators are new to me, but do a fantastic job, capturing the boisterous nature of Joy and the conflicted storyline of Ellie!
I like that there were so many layers to this book. Characters you want to be friends with. I mean, seriously, who wouldn’t want to be a member of the Smith family?! I could easily imagine this book being turned into either a TV series or a Netflix movie.. that’s how colorful these people are!
You will laugh, you will cry, and then you will laugh again! Pack this book for the beach or for a rainy day.. you won’t be disappointed!
