Finally hopping on board with this trend 💛

Looking through my camera reel to pick these photos, I’m overwhelmed by the privilege it is to do all these things. And yes, while some days it feels like extra work- which don’t get me wrong, it is- it still is a privilege be able to take care of our family these ways.

It really is a blessing to be able to step back from a broken food system where we can, and help others do the same. For the things we can’t- trust me, I can’t grow a melon worth a crap- there’s probably a neighbor who can!

It’s butchering week for our first round of pastured poultry. These birds have been out on pasture all day every day for weeks! They have been supplemented with bon-GMO feed.

She popped! Last week Josiah went out to do morning chores and found a farm fresh addition! Bonnie calved all by herself early Wednesday morning.

One thing led to another, and we ended up finding another day old car to graft on to Bonnie to help keep up with her supply, especially during this month of planting.

Meet Cake and Shake, as named by our toddler crew 💛 All are well and thriving! They are enjoying fresh pasture, and are becoming quite adept at hiding in the tall grass and trees.
