Aspen’s puppies have opened their eyes and are starting to wrestle! They are being well snuggled by both mom and humans.
Both parents are health tested AKC Labrador Retrievers, family dogs raised around kids. Cayne, the father, is a retired hunter and dock diving champion.

1 yellow female
1 yellow male

The 2 remaining yellows are reddish yellow like Aspen. They’ll be available for their new homes May 12!

It’s been cold, but we’re starting to think spring! Here are the dates set so far for Apple Grafting Classes:

April 7-8 - Bliss Township Library - Levering, MI
April 11 - Bear Creek Organic Farm - Petoskey, MI
April 30 - Speaker Farm Market & Orchard - Melvin, MI
May 29-30 - Mitten Homesteaders Conference - Lake Odessa, MI

We still have a few open dates for businesses/organizations wanting to host a class. PM for details. Keep an eye out for specifics about each class!

We’ve been pretty quiet over here - and busy!
Since the spring “ice storm of the century”, it seems like life has been so busy and somehow summer flew by. Once the puppies went to their new homes we paused our Fall projects to take a break and spend some time in the UP. Since then we’ve been trying to finish our projects and get ready for winter.
Building a winter pen for the sheep, refencing the garden and tree nursery, fixing and refixing the mower and tractor, and putting approximately 1,000 tree guards on the apple trees in both our nursery and orchard. We also got a couple new mousers - (meet Kit Kat and Shy Guy!)
I think we might actually be looking forward to winter so things slow down a bit!
