Henberry Farm

Henberry Farm Henberry Farm raises chickens for meat and eggs. They are fed NON-GMO, SOY FREE feed and scratch from day 1. They were named, POP-TART, PEANUT AND DOTTIE-WOT.

They are allowed to roam free on 8 acres of pasture. They will never experience a moment of abuse or neglect in their life. Henberry Farm was essentially created back in 2008 when Jen bought 3 baby chickens for herself and her two daughters down in South Florida. Not having a clue about chickens, they lived in a large cage in the house that had 7 cats and one very large dog. Knowing they were goin

g to grow, and they were beginning to smell up the house, Jen knew she had to create outdoor housing for them immediately. Not knowing a thing about construction, she went to work on building her first A-frame house. It was quite functional. A couple years later, she had to move into a condo that did not have a yard and was forced to give up her beloved chickens. Thankfully, a gracious neighbor took them. Jen vowed that if she ever had a yard again, she would get more chickens. Spring ahead to 2015, Jen was laid off from her employer and decided to move to TN where some of her family was. She had a yard again and the first thing she did was ... go get some baby chicks. - DOMINO, COTTON, PETEY, DANNIE, PEPPER AND MUFFIN. She had no place to put them except in a large dog cage. Again, immediately, construction began and temporary housing was created, however, not predator proof. Three of her beloved chickens were killed which devastated her. Then, permanent construction began and has now grown into two large 8 x 16 coops / pens, a mobile A-frame coop / pen and a chicken tractor. The housing is complete with fans, lighting and sound monitors. Now comes the business part. With increasing awareness of the abuse and neglect chickens are raised in at big chicken farms, Jen knew that she would have no part in that. From day 1, her chickens have been fed NON-GMO, SOY FREE feed and scratch. She has also created a large garden to grow NON-GMO / ORGANIC vegetables to feed the chickens as well as her family. The chickens go bonkers for the corn! Spring of 2016, Jen tried her first shot at raising Cornish Rock Meat Chickens. Every day was a new learning experience. She found a lovely couple who taught her how to process a chicken. Her first production resulted in 25 meat chickens and roosters, which all sold almost immediately. Today, Jen has established HENBERRY FARM and is proud of the meat and eggs she supplies to her customers. With full confidence that the chickens are never treated with chemicals and antibiotics and only fed high quality feed and scratch as well as wholesome snacks. They are very well cared for and adored. They will never experience a moment of abuse or neglect. They are allowed to roam free on 8 acres of pasture surrounding the home when Jen is present. Another miracle baby. I had a turkey hen sitting on eggs and another hen wanted to start nesting with her. In the commotion of squishing two hens in the nesting box, they stepped and cracked an egg open. Baby wasn't due to hatch for another 2 days. When I pulled the egg out I thought for sure it was dead but I noticed the egg inner lining rising and falling as it breathed. I picked the broken egg shell off and pulled the lining back and stuck it in the incubator. Viola~it's doing well!!! No mama, but alive.
