🐔 MEAT BIRDS

The only meat bird we currently breed at Bluestone Hatchery is the White American Bresse. Known for excellent flavor and quality, it has earned a strong reputation among poultry enthusiasts.

🥚 EGG LAYERS

We currently manage 15 breeding pens representing approximately 30 breeds and varieties, with a flock of more than 400 birds throughout the year.

I focus heavily on genetics, selective breeding, hybrid vigor, and early production traits to help customers build productive backyard flocks.

🐣 WHY BUY LOCAL?

When you purchase chicks from a local breeder, you can see where your birds come from, ask questions directly, and receive ongoing support.

Many hatcheries successfully ship chicks across the country, but at Bluestone Hatchery we have chosen to focus on local pickup and personal customer service. We do not ship chicks, but we will often travel long distances ourselves to bring in quality breeding stock.

Don’t be afraid to let your chickens free range during the day. You still safely lock them in the coop every night, but giving them the freedom to roam is a completely different experience.

It changes chickens from just “egg producers” into something you genuinely enjoy watching and raising every day. Healthier birds, more natural behaviors, and a happier flock overall.

It’s the difference between simply working for eggs… and truly enjoying your investment.
