#8 TRAVIS !!!

Travis joined us a year ago and it’s a bit indescribable the blessing he has been to Crouse House! He brought with him 18 years of roasting experience (first at CBD then Side By Each), a super strong work ethic, a very humble nature and a heart to teach and share all the nuances that goes into roasting, oh and the ability to fix our espresso machine 100 times 😂

If you’ve noticed a dramatic increase in the quality of Crouse House coffee over the past year it’s all thanks to this guy!

Most Saturdays if you stop in during our shop hours you’ll see Travis roasting and he’s always happy to talk you through the roast process 🙂

#6 Origin!

Simply, where the coffee was grown and produced. Coffee is grown all around the world and each region has unique and special characteristics (terroir). At Crouse House you’ll find a wide selection of single origin options (meaning the beans you are buying are from one specific farm or co-op). We try to roast in a way that highlights these unique characteristics - that’s why you won’t see a French or Italian roast at Crouse House - fun fact: the longer you roast coffee the more you lose those unique characteristics the producers worked so hard for at origin. If you like burnt coffee, I know a couple big chains where you can find that 😆

Spot #5! Natural Processed

Natural processing is a coffee method where the entire coffee cherry is dried before the fruit is removed from the bean. As the cherry dries, the bean absorbs sugars and flavors from the fruit, often resulting in a coffee with sweeter, fruitier flavors and a fuller body.

It’s one of the oldest coffee processing methods and is known for producing unique and expressive cups.

We currently have two natural processed coffees, our Ethiopia and Honduras are natural processed and you can taste the fruitiness 🙂
