Shooting Star Acres

Shooting Star Acres We are a small family farm in Lexington, Virginia in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. This first group of lambs have some amazing markings and fleece.

We raise Shetland sheep and are participating in the breed-up program to bring Valais Blacknose sheep to the US. We also raise free ranging chickens for both eggs and meat, they can be found around the farm doing what chickens do best. Our most recent project has involved AI to bring new bloodlines for Shetland Sheep to the US from the UK.

Spent a few hours replacing the belt on one of the barn fans. After spending the time to clean the motor brushes, blades and protective screens, I spent 10 minutes cleaning the case, handles and cable. If you're gonna do it, finish it!

We've recently switched all-in to Kalmbach feed for our laying hens. Huge difference in egg production and overall health of the ladies. We've been using the Henhouse Reserve as a treat in the evenings and feeding the layer daily. Would highly recommend their feed for your farm. Bonus, their Lamb Start Right Creep feed put weight on our lambs even through a drought.
