We took a drive out to Ellinger, TX this weekend to support Crispy Critters BBQ, consisting of Hannah’s Dad Kenny.

It’s been a long time since we’ve been just spectators at a cook-off instead of competitors, and it was nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy the day for a change.

We had a great time visiting with family, checking out some great BBQ, and enjoying a few margaritas from Mason Jar of La Grange.

It was nice spending the day around good company.

Now it’s time to get back behind the pit and get ready for the next one @ Lee County Go Texan Cook-Off in Giddings.

🔥 Butcher Life BBQ is gearing up for another big cook-off at the Lee County Go Texan Cook-Off on June 26th–27th! 🔥

This event gives teams the opportunity to compete for a chance to represent Lee County at the 2027 Houston World Championship Cook-Off. The highest overall scoring team across chicken, ribs, and brisket will earn the opportunity to move on and represent Lee County in Houston.

We’re already getting locked in and preparing to give it everything we’ve got.

As we continue competing across Texas, we’re looking to partner with local businesses and supporters who want to be part of the journey and help us continue growing the team.

Each $100 sponsorship helps support competition costs such as entry fees, meat, travel, and supplies throughout the cook-off season and includes your choice of:

🍖 2 slabs of competition-style St. Louis ribs
🍗 OR 2 whole competition-style chickens (4 halves)
🐖 OR 1 whole pork butt
—all fully cooked by the Butcher Life BBQ team.

Sponsors will also receive:
• Social media tags and business mentions
• Exposure at cook-offs and events throughout the season

Headed down to Bay City for the Matagorda County Go Texan Cook Off and had a blast cooking all weekend! 🔥🐂

Our results:

🦌 2nd Place Wild Game-Stuffed Poppers
🥘 8th Place Beans
🌭 8th Place Wild Game —Link Sausage
🥤 14th Place Drink-Blood orange cocktail
🍖 15th Place Ribs
🐔 Chicken — flew away
🥩 Brisket — 39th out of 77 entries. Not our best placing, but we were happy with the brisket and always learning something for the next cookoff.

Proud of our team and for there support! Already planning the next cookoff and ready to get back after it! 🔥
