Today we remember the incredible Dolly Parton. 🤍🦋
The world knew her for her unmistakable voice, her songs, her humor, and of course, all those rhinestones but her greatest legacy may very well be the way she gave back.
She poured so much of what she earned back into her community and into helping others. She created the Imagination Library, placing millions upon millions of books into the hands of children. 📚 She created scholarships and programs encouraging children in her hometown to finish school. She gave millions to families rebuilding after devastating wildfires and storms, supported children's healthcare and medical research, and continuously used her success to lift up the people around her.
As a small business that believes deeply in faith, family, children, and community, that part of Dolly's story means so much to us here at The Olive & Oak House. 🌿
She may have left this earth, but there are children opening books because of her. There are families who were able to rebuild because of her. There are students who pursued their dreams because someone believed in them.
