Thank you to everyone who voted for this small, local independent business 💗💗💗 and thanks to the CC magazine for including us and darlingwinebar in honorable mentions, especially since a huge non-local big box store and large chain got nominated in the category. I was so disappointed this year when I saw Total Wine in the running. Liquor barn annoys me but at least they are back under local ownership. I realize there are a few categories where non local businesses are nominated but I thought this was supposed to support us little guys that are unique to Lexington! Most categories were 100% local. Total Wine winning in this category would be like H&M winning for Best Women’s Clothing Store. Or, like Home Depot winning for Best Garden Store. When I saw that Total Wine was nominated, I decided to not share the link to vote like I normally do, so I’m delighted that we still got a mention and I really appreciate that. But come on, let’s not nominate them next year folks! Buy local. Support small. 💗💗💗
