Tastings has now returned to normal business hours (at least until the 1st full week of December - look for those extended hours to be posted soon) and are ready to serve you.

Just a quick note to say that Tastings will be closed this Saturday, Oct. 22nd, with the Barbecue Festival happening. Come in today or tomorrow to pick up the good stuff you want to sip on this weekend!

If you've been thinking about taking a deeper dive into wine and its making (not to mention your glass), there is a class through Davidson-Davie Community College to consider.
Led by the two Jessicas of Wine Mouths, this class will include a lot of information, as well as "mouths on" (ok, you'll be using your hands, too, so I guess "hands on" is also correct) experiences, including right in the shop with Chris.

Another round of wines for that special someone on a special occasion. Both of these beautiful bottles are from famed Belle Glos Wines and are at a significant discount than if you ordered them online (like, to the tune of about 50% off). If you are getting together with family and friends, why not impress both them and their taste buds?
Wednesday. Not to put anxiety into anyone, but only 3 shopping days left counting today. We've plenty of special items all over the store to help you get through, but we have a few extra special bottles hidden away as well. Single bottles such as the 2010 Oddero Barolo (#39 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2014), or the 2011 Il Grigio da San Felice Chianti Classico Gran Selezione (#1 in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 of 2015), both pictured below.
We're open until 7pm tonight and tomorrow, so come on by. We'll do our best to help your shopping experience and take away at least some of that anxiety. If nothing else, we're betting a glass of something we sell can.
We only have 3 of these 4-packs left, but it's hard to turn down any Ten Fidy (much less a vertical of 2015-2018)!
We haven't forgotten all the wine enthusiasts this holiday season. For example, here's a 2007 McCrorie Family "Burly" Cabernet magnum (regular 750ml bottle shown for scale) from Napa Valley. A delicious wine Chris has been holding for just the right time. Just one example of special wines we're pulling from the "cellar" this year, because we could all use some special right now.

We know the bottles look similar or even the same, but they do vary slightly. This is the last of the 2013 through 2016 verticals we have of this fantastic Russian Imperial Stout from Bell's. We haven't tried it this year, but can tell you that the '13 was still amazing last year. There are only 5 4-packs, so when it's gone, it's gone.
There are a few other vertical packs we have put together for that special beer fan in your life, and we've stocked a number of special wines (in addition to the excellent ones we already carry) so come on in for your festive needs.

Perfect for that celebratory toast or a morning-after Mimosa, this Extra-Dry Prosecco (so slightly sweeter than Brut â we knowâŠitâs confusing) is a sparkling wine made by natural fermentation. It typically has a fruity bouquet reminiscent of Golden Delicious apples, with a hint of banana and peach, at a very reasonable price.
We're back and open until 7ish tonight to lend a hand with your holiday cheer(s)! Penultimate listing from the "Ultimate List of Ultimate Wines Available For Penultimate Shopping":
Probably Kristinâs favorite wine of all time, this almost all Cabernet Sauvignon (with just a bit Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Merlot and Malbec) creates a powerful wine aged in Chateau-style French oak for 18 months. Raspberry and cherry with some oaky vanilla and sweet spices round out a fantastically lush palate, structured with just enough tannins to keep from becoming some kind of fruit bomb.
A longtime favorite in the shop, this Zin (w/ a touch of Carignane & Petite Sirah) is organically grown and sustainably farmed. Aromas of black cherry and plum combine with a hint of cigar box and vanilla-oak baking spice. Creamy and round, this wine from the âQueen of Zinfandelâ has a long finish with lush, jammy fruit.
Onward with the "Naughty or Nice, We're Drinking This Twice" list:
A red blend from Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyards (40% Cab, 22% Syrah, 14% Petite Sirah, 10% Cab Franc, 10% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot), this wine comes in a 14.9% abv. That hefty weight is matched by powerful aromas and flavors of ripe black fruits, dark chocolate, to***co leaf and Asian spices.
