I wanted to let anyone local know of an opportunity, in Oklahoma to hang out with alpacas. The alpaca Blast Off is the third largest show in the United States and it is held in Chickasaw, November 6th through the 8th. At the Grady County Fairgrounds. Awesome opportunity to talk to people that own alpacas and see alpacas. I went there for 6 years hoping to own an alpaca one day. And I talked to people and hung out but didn't realize I could volunteer and really get to know the people in the group. Alpaca people are awesome and anyone can volunteer for the show. Lots of positions to apply for and training for all. Sometimes you are just holding alpacas for people . Go to Alpacas of Oklahoma page and there is a volunteer link. Best way to get to know about alpacas and meet the people involved here in Oklahoma. Just putting it out there because I didn't know that I could do that and would have done it for a number of years.

When we went to Texas to pick up my ram we also picked up three new rabbits. I had red eyed white Tamuck commercial rabbits but I wanted to get some Tamuk composite, which are the colored ones. Tamuk is a breed that was started as a program at Texas A&M-Kingston and that's where they get their name from. They were made to survive better in the heat of Texas, so I thought they would be a good rabbit for us here in Oklahoma. However, I really wanted to find rabbits that had pedigrees that showed that they came from the Texas A&M program. I found Hill Country Rabbitry in Texas and she had pedigrees on rabbits that she personally had picked up from the program when they closed it down.

I'd like to start a separate page to post my rabbits on, so I'm asking for opinions here. Which sounds better? "When Pigs Fly Farm Rabbitry" or "When Pigs Fly Rabbitry"? Thanks for your responses in advance.

I've been doing so bad at posting our Make-it-Monday adventures, so I'm going to play catch up.
In the last 3 months we have made egg noodles from scratch, made aprons from jeans, finally made cowboy crackers AND finished the puzzle, tried our hand at acrylic paints, and went on a Saturday trip to the Clarita quilt auction.

I love getting together with my gang. Thanks y'all for supporting me in my need to gather.

Ok. I really like alpacas. They are warming up and let me just hang with them now. They are so soothing. They are not pushy for attention. They just let me stand in the middle while they observe life and they hum. It is the most soothing sound!! I see why alpaca yoga is a thing! I'm hoping when they are more familiar with my place then I can have painting with the 'pacas and I'll share that experience with you too.
We will eventually offer alpaca experiences off the farm too. Contact me if interested, because I do have a friend nearby who can share her alpacas right now. We have alpacas in the "hood" ready to share this experience with y'all!
