Today is Celiac Disease Awareness Day. 💚
Celiac is HARD and it's BRUTAL.
I live it every single day!!! It’s reading every label, worrying about cross-contamination, being afraid to eat food you didn’t prepare yourself, getting sick from things people don’t realize contain gluten, and constantly having to explain that gluten free isn’t a choice or a "fad" ....it’s a necessity.
And when I get exposed, it’s not simply a stomachache. It can wipe me out for a week or longer at a time. The inflammation, exhaustion, nausea, headaches, dehydration, and all the ways it can make your whole body feel awful are very real. ( There's over 200 symptoms to this 1 disease)
It’s so much more than anyone understands unless you live it. One tiny bread crumb is all it takes.
To everyone living with Celiac Disease, especially on the days your body is making life feel 10 times harder, I see you. 💚🫶🏼
