A Kentucky farmer has rejected a $15 million data center offer. In rural Kentucky, a lifelong farmer turned down a massive offer to sell his land for industrial development, choosing instead to protect the farm that has supported his family and community for generations.
After decades of working the land, raising cattle, and watching the seasons roll across the hills, he chose preservation over profit. Rather than cashing out, the farmer placed the property into a farmland preservation agreement worth about $2 million. He still owns the land, but it can now only be sold for agricultural use.
The agreement permanently blocks factories, warehouses, and data centers from being built there, ensuring the fields remain pasture, crops, and open countryside for future generations.
For him, the land wasn’t just real estate. It was history, livelihood, and a way of life. And in a world where farmland disappears every day, this Kentucky farm will stay exactly what it was meant to be — farmland. 🌾

These plastic bottles might look to be “out of sight, out of mind,” tucked away in this hollow log, but they can have an impact on the environment. Plastic can take 450+ years to break down, harming wildlife, contributing to microplastic pollution, and disrupting the view for other hikers. We appreciate everybody that packs out their trash and leaves only footprints!
