Due to multiple illnesses Fred and I made the heartbreaking decision to close the Happy Horse Ranch after 15 years of caring for our five horses. This was a decision we both knew would come someday and yet as much as we tried to prepare for it we still felt like our breath was knocked from us. The final three years at the ranch were blessed with several volunteers who without fail and in every type of weather gave of themselves to our horses, our barn and our home. Once we made the decision we prayed and asked God for help to find home (s) for the boys. Wouldn't you know it, the new homes found us. Some of the boys are in the area others are not. Copper and Zip stayed together, Cody and Buddy are together and Bobby is spending his time with a mare. The HHR was a special place for many people and will go on to remain special in the hearts and minds of all who spent time there. We encourage everyone to hang onto those memories and to celebrate the horses and what you came away with when you left. Fred and I loved the boys and miss them, our focus now is on Fred's health as he struggles to overcome the effects of several health issues. We thank everyone for your prayers for the horses, Fred and myself. God Bless, Fred and Susan
