Green Hills is a new, ambitious Thoroughbred Consignor based out of Lexington, KY at the historic Elmendorf Farm. She moved to the United States in 2008 where she has been Business Partner and Assistant Trainer with Sancal Racing for nearly 14 years. Maria has developed a keen eye for quality with many years of experience not just with racing, but also breeding, buying and selling horses. Addition
ally, she has regularly been involved with traveling while shipping thoroughbreds internationally. She has demonstrated steadfast devotion to her horses and clients- earning herself a reputation amongst the thoroughbred community's elite. In its peak, Elmendorf Farm was home to 2,000 horses, including Stakes winners such as Miss Woodford, Hall of Famers Firenze and Salvator, and Kentucky Derby winners Ben Ali and Apollo. Haggin, owner of Ben Ali, built a grand mansion as a wedding gift to his wife and named it "Green Hills" because of its beautiful view of Bluegrass country. The mansion, once known as "Biltmore of Kentucky", is now remembered by its pillared facade. Today, and in partnership with Sancal Racing, the farm is home to hundreds of horses and long time employees- all of whom are valuable members of our team. Because of this dedication, our thoroughbreds receive only the best hands-on care and attention. Offering investment opportunities, our services include: boarding, breeding, nomination and mating recommendations, pre-sale inspections and appraisals, Bloodstock consultation and management, investment partnerships, sales representation and more. Purchasing approximately 65 horses a year, some of which are quarantined in compliance with USDA standards for international shipping, we are fully committed to our horses and clients- serving with honesty, integrity and complete dedication to the industry. Green Hills looks forward to continuing in this tradition in the heart of the Bluegrass in Central Kentucky.
