Our beef is raised on a family farm and our animals are pastured for the majority of the year. During adverse weather, animals are fed almost exclusively forage from our own farm, consisting predominantly of grass hay. Never are our animals fed any grain or are they given any growth hormones. No antibiotics are given in the feed and if an animal becomes ill and must be treated, it is generally wit

h penicillin. Animals have access to pure unlimited water and are rarely confined in a corral. Overall good animal health is a constant goal. Animals are selectively bred for desirable characteristics such as good muscling, fast growth, and mild temperament. Handling of our animals is most often accomplished by voice and as such, frequent rotation of pastures is the norm. Our animals are used to us and are raised in as calm of environment as possible. Our animals are hardy and since they are raised in a semi-arid desert; most have never seen the inside of a barn. We take pride in raising quality animals and we eat nothing but our own beef.

Clean water doesn't start with regulations—it starts with education.

One of our favorite parts of Watershed Field Day is seeing students get out of the classroom and into the field. Learning about macroinvertebrates may sound simple, but these tiny creatures tell an important story about watershed health.

Proud to support hands-on learning right here in Eastern Oregon.

We're getting ready for Watershed Field day 2026!

We're getting ready for Watershed Field day 2026!

We’re getting ready for next week’s 2026 Watershed Field Day in Lexington, Oregon!
Fifth graders from Ione and Heppner will spend the day outside learning about watersheds, soil, aquatic insects, plants, wildlife, navigation, and the connection between land and water through hands-on activities and field stations.
Big thanks to the presenters, volunteers, schools, and community partners helping bring real outdoor education experiences to local students!

There’s a reason you don’t see more local chicken in stores.

Processing is the bottleneck.

Neiffer Ranch Poultry Processing is now USDA inspected — processing hens, turkeys, and Cornish Cross chickens for farms across our region.

We couldn't find one so we built it. We’re currently the only USDA poultry processor in Oregon & Washington taking outside farms’ birds, helping small farms access larger markets and cross state lines legally (we can now sell/ship to all 50 states!).

Small farms can grow food.
But they need processing infrastructure to survive.

We’re excited to see Compost Casa receive support from the Wildhorse Foundation for their compost and soil education programs here in our community.
Compost Casa will use the funding to purchase a commercial shredder and compost-turning equipment to process organic materials and manage demonstration compost systems — turning agricultural waste into nutrient-rich soil while students learn hands-on environmental and agricultural concepts.

At Neiffer Ranch, we see every day how waste can become a resource, so it’s exciting to watch this educational work continue to grow.

We're thrilled to announce the Wildhorse Foundation's Q4 grant awards! 👏

A total of $353,606 has been awarded this quarter across 25 organizations driving transformative change 🎉 We're honored to stand by these partners and advance these initiatives—from essential public safety enhancements to salmon habitat restoration.
