Inspired by the strength drinks of Ancient Greece, BAQUA is a refreshing line of prebiotic beverages crafted from ancient grains.

During a trip to England, founder Sandra Marlowe was introduced to the favorite drink of the Royal Family, as well as the official drink of Wimbledon for 80 years—Lemon Barley Water. She was delighted by the taste and intrigued by its authentic roots to the barley strength drinks of Ancient Greece. Sandra believed Americans would fall in love with a version of this healthful beverage and embrace t

Are we barley fans? You bet! Tasting Lemon Barley Water ignited our passion to create healthy prebiotic drinks. Barley was the first ancient grain we tested when developing the ancient grain blend we use in Baqua. The cooler weather called for making a family favorite, beef and barley soup. Love the sweetness of tropical fruits! But I treasure the sweeetness of lasting friendships even more. The baby bananas on this little tree represent love, laughter, and loyalty of three families and generations of friendship.The root stock has passed from family to family in at least six locations for over 80 years. Snapped this in my brother's backyard when visiting this weekend. See that baby tree coming up on the right? It will soon be dug and planted at the home of another generation of the same circle of friends. Foods nourish the body; friendships nourish the soul. Celebrating both today!

On Mothers Day, my son-in-law gave me a wonderful gift he made--a flat of potting soil planted with seeds of greens-- lettuce, spinach, kale, and more. I carefully watered, waited, and transplanted those little sprouts. This beautiful bowl was one day's harvest from my small raised bed garden. Greens+bacon+homemade sourdough bread+avocado+tomatoes from my local farmer's roadside stand=Best BLT EVER!!!
