Summer bake dates are here! ☀️

Whether you’re stocking up on sourdough bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, or other homemade favorites, I’ve got a few bake days planned throughout the summer.

📍 Lexington, KY home cottage bakery

Need something between bake days? I’m always happy to take personal orders with at least 2 days’ notice and a $10 minimum order.

And don’t miss our One-Year Anniversary Porch Party on August 1! 🎉 I’ll be sharing more details soon, but expect special treats, extras, and a few fun surprises as we celebrate one year of Yellow Cocina.

Thank you for supporting my little bakery and helping turn a sourdough hobby into something so much bigger.

New favorite focaccia recipe unlocked.

I don’t say this lightly… this is seriously the best focaccia I’ve ever made. Golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy and airy on the inside, and made with just FOUR ingredients. 💛

Ingredients:
• 100g active sourdough starter
• 500g bread flour
• 400g water
• 10g salt
(Plus good oil for the dimples)

Method:

1. Mix starter, water, flour, and salt until combined.
2. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
3. Perform 3-4 sets of stretch and folds every 30 minutes.
4. Let the dough continue bulk fermenting until puffy and airy.
5. Divide between two well-oiled 8-inch round pans.
6. Let rise until noticeably bubbly and relaxed.
7. Dimple with oiled fingertips and drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil.
8. Bake at 425°F for 25 minutes, until deeply golden brown.

The crumb. The chew. The crispy olive oil edges. The fact that I immediately wanted another piece after finishing the first one. 😅

Save this recipe for your next sourdough bake!
