🌾 WHY WESTERN-GROWN HAY? 🐴

Have you ever wondered why Hymer Feed Company brings premium hay all the way from the West?

It starts with the climate. ☀️

Kentucky grows plenty of great forage, but our humidity, heavy morning dew, and unpredictable rainfall can make properly curing hay challenging. In many Western hay-growing regions, lower humidity, less rainfall, and more predictable harvest weather can provide ideal conditions for producing consistent, high-quality horse hay.

🌾 What can that mean for your horse?

☀️ Better Curing Conditions
A drier climate can allow freshly cut hay to cure more quickly and evenly before baling.

💧 Less Exposure to Rain & Moisture
Rain during curing can affect hay quality and increase the amount of time it remains in the field.

🍃 Excellent Leaf Retention & Quality
Good harvesting conditions can help preserve the leaves, color, and overall quality of Timothy, Orchard Grass, Alfalfa, and mixed hay.

📊 Greater Consistency
Large Western hay-growing operations can provide more consistent cuttings and lots—important when you’re trying to keep your horse’s forage program consistent.

At Hymer Feed Company, we source premium Western hay from trusted growers because we’re looking for quality, consistency, and dependable forage—not simply a pretty bale.

🐴 Your horse’s nutrition starts with quality hay.
