Around these Kentucky roads, Memorial Day has always meant more than a long weekend.

The old Burnt Tavern operated near Camp Nelson during the years the camp was active. Today, those grounds stand in remembrance of generations of American servicemen and women who served this country.

Tavern Sweet Tea

Chilled tea brightened with rosemary honey, lemon, and Burnt Tavern Bourbon.

Ingredients
2 oz. Burnt Tavern Bourbon
3 oz. chilled tea
1/2 oz. rosemary honey syrup
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
Ice
Rosemary sprig
Lemon peel

Instructions
Stir bourbon, tea, rosemary honey syrup, and lemon juice over ice until chilled. Pour over fresh ice and garnish with rosemary and lemon peel. Lightly singe the rosemary for a Burnt Tavern finish.

Rosemary Honey Syrup
Stir equal parts honey and hot water. Steep rosemary for 8–10 minutes, remove, and chill.
