Twice burned. Four major honors in our first year.

To earn Double Gold, every judge on the panel has to award Gold in a blind tasting. We did that at the New York World Spirits Competition.

Then came Gold in San Francisco. 96 points in London, the highest score awarded to any bourbon in the competition. And Straight Bourbon of the Year at the 2025 USA Spirits Ratings.

Some bourbons just age. Ours got twice burned, resurrected, and started collecting awards before its first birthday.

There’s something different about pouring Burnt Tavern Bourbon into shot glasses that haven’t held a drink in nearly a century.

A little Kentucky history. A little William Berkele legacy. And one hell of a toast to the people keeping the story alive.

One trip around the sun. Quite a few awards to show for it.

We launched Burnt Tavern last September not knowing what to expect. Then came USA Spirits Ratings’ Straight Bourbon of the Year right out of the gate. A Double Gold at the New York World Spirits Competition. Gold in San Francisco. Gold at the Bartender Spirits Awards.

This is what happens when a real story and real craft end up in the glass.

And we’re just getting started.

Burnt Tavern was a real place.

Built in 1794 in Garrard County, Kentucky, it was a stagecoach stop where travelers pulled off the Wilderness Road to rest. It burned twice. They rebuilt it twice, and the name stuck.

Every bottle we make still carries that same fire.
