This year has been hard on our field with no to very little rain then 90+ degree days. (even with watering). Now with these storms the past couple of days we do have damage 😔. My husband has calmed me down several times this year (with one being tonight). And he reminds me that we cannot control the weather. Yes we do have some flowers that are already in bloom. We plant with in the 50-60 day marks for our Procut flowers, for the show. We have some flowers that won’t bloom until a week or so after the show (it was planned that way we had some blooms later). We will have flowers in bloom for the show. I just want to be up front and honest if the field doesn’t look how it usually has in the past for the event.
The field will remain open after the event and we will even be selling premade flower arrangements until all the flowers have gone to seed. This year all flower sales yes even after the event will be split between Cleveland Clinic and Toledo Children’s Hospital.

Please also remember that the show is not just about the flowers. It is also about our talented vendors. They work so hard on their products please visit all of them to see what they have.

Not every year is a good year for any kind of farming, some years are the best, some ok and some not great at all. Please no negativity towards anyone, everyone does their best. But sometimes things don’t go the way we hope and pray.

Sunflowers need between 1-2 inches of water a week. We are very thankful for the much needed rain today. Enjoy a picture of this sunny enjoying the rain. 🌻

This may not be my best picture of the buttercream sunflower, but it sure is pretty this evening.
