I’ve loved having Vanessa—my dear friend and business partner—stay with us the last week and a half. My love language is cooking, and getting to pour that into meals for her and Ray has filled my cup in the best way.

We’ve done it all…
From 5-star, plate-it-pretty dinners, to pure home-cooking comfort, to even a humble Swanson pot pie on a busy Monday grind kind of night.

Food isn’t always about fancy.
Sometimes it’s just about presence, laughter, and feeding the people you love.

I’m going to miss her when she heads home… even though we’ll be right back to our every-morning coffee calls ☕️
Different table. Same connection.

And yes… every bite?

One more night and we are doing comfort with an Italian inspired soup for this cold day.

First cold day in Texas finally hit… and y’all already know the rules:
Cold weather = chili or pozole. It’s basically state law. 🤠🌶️

But your girl had a ham bone calling her name, so I broke the rules (shocking, I know) and went full 7-bean stew instead. Slow-simmered, rich, and cozy… and topped it off with Italian kale straight from the garden.

Let me tell you — this bowl is hug-you-from-the-inside delicious.
Warm. Savory. Hearty.

Garden-to-table vibes today! 🌱

Sleep is all kinds of wonky—wide awake at 2am and no going back. 😴 But when the garden is overflowing, you don’t not cook, right?

So I broke out the trusty Instapot and whipped up a 30-minute Chicken Stew that tastes like it simmered all day:
🍗 Chicken thighs
🌶 Shish*tos + green chilis
🥔 Potatoes
🤍 White beans
🧅 Onion
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
🧀 Cheese
🌿 Cilantro

Oh! Cant forget the chicken chicharons!!

Comfort in a bowl, ready before the first quarter kickoff. 🏈 Now it’s me, my stew, porch and some football. Simple pleasures. 💚
