You guys!!! 🥹🖤 Woody is CAST FREE!!! I am so excited to report that Mr Woodrow has officially been given a clean bill of health! His cast has been removed and he is free to join his girlfriends again! The over protective Momma in me is giving him a few more days of separation to adjust to being back on his own four feet.. but he is doing amazing! He will be back in with everyone else before he knows it!

❤️‍🩹 Another first for me!! My new guy, Woody, got himself into something and has broken his leg. He was fine at bedtime and injured the next morning so we are unsure what happened. A quick trip to the vet and he is hard casted and on the road to recovery! He will be confined to a smaller pen by himself for four weeks and then have another check up with the vet. They anticipate one more hard cast after that to assure his leg has plenty of time to heal! We are all optimistic that he will make a complete recovery with no limitations!

As always, I will keep you all posted on his road to recovery! 🥰

Updates on my little homestead!

1️⃣ - I changed my mind (( AGAIN )) and in finding the absolute PERFECT home for my boy Chief, I sold him! I am officially baby goat free! All my bottle babies are in their new homes! 🥰

2️⃣ - Now introducing…. Woody!! Our new breeder buck!! He is ABGA registered and the absolute SWEETEST boy! I swear he thinks he is a dog! 🖤 He runs and plays with the kids and always the first to come tell everyone hello! I am so excited to see what his future babies will look like!!

- More future herd plans coming soon!! I’ve got big plans for the female side of my program ☺️

After a busy few weeks I am excited to say that ALL of my bottle babies are in their new homes!! 🥹❤️ my heart felt happy knowing they were each sent to loving homes!!

Due to this CRAZY cold… I now have five bottle babies for sale! They all received 48 hours of colostrum and are taking a bottle easily. They would make great 4-H prospects! Sharing here first before I post in other groups.

Hello everyone!!! 👋🏻

It has been a while since I have shared what has been happening with Double S Boer Goats!!

Most recently, two of our girls had a trip to town to play a role in The Living Nativity Scene at a church local to us! It was such a neat experience to be a part of! Watch for this again next year and if you live near Liberty / Kearny MO I strongly encourage you to come and enjoy that next year! We even have LIVE CAMELS! 🤩

As for my fall kidding… that never happened! The goats I purchased to expose for fall babies never cycled. I think a few outside factors played a role in that but the end result is the same. No fall babies this year. BUT… I have recorded multiple coverings by Camo for early February babies!! We could have some sooner but I have those dates for sure marked down! So we should have early spring babies if all goes according to plan! 🩵

We are officially ONE MONTH away from Camo’s fall kidding date!! 👏🏻

** Friendly Reminder - these girls were all purchased the first part of April this year. Camo’s first possible kids from these nanny’s are due September 15th. Anything born between now and then means they were bred prior to me getting them! I did hold them away from Camo for two weeks after I purchased them so we will have a very definite answer on who fathered each baby! It’s just a waiting game now! 😬👏🏻

In my Spring group, we had two goats deliver ahead of Camo’s due date! So I am on my toes with these girls waiting to see if anyone is going to slip one out early on me!! 🤪

Ellis - The Bearded Lady, had her baby last month. He was sold as a bottle kid and is doing fantastic in his new home! She was obviously already bred when I bought her so she won’t have a registered baby by Camp this year!

I am anxious to see what comes next!! 🥰
