We were honored to be part of the Women in Action Breakfast hosted by
This year’s theme, Rooted in Community, truly resonated with us. Sitting in that room and hearing how partnerships and collaboration are helping survivors of domestic violence reminded me that real change doesn’t happen in isolation, it happens together.
PADV is doing meaningful, life-changing work in our communities. We left educated, encouraged, and grateful.
Thank you for allowing Henning Honey Company to be part of your artisan marketplace and such an impactful morning.
Stronger communities are built when we show up for each other.

Wishing you a Christmas filled with warmth, family, and the simple joys that matter most. We’re grateful for every customer, every local supporter, and every jar that gets shared around the table this season.
From our hives to your home; thank you for being part of our journey.
Merry Christmas.

It hit 63° today, and the bees were up and moving. On days like this, they’ll break cluster, clean house, and take advantage of any food available. You can see a pollen patty that’s been partially eaten, which tells me the colony is active and responding when conditions allow.
The flip side of warm winter days is that food gets used up faster. When bees are more active, they burn through stores much quicker than when they’re tightly clustered. Winter beekeeping is all about timing. We don’t open hives often, but when the weather gives us a window, a quick check can tell you a lot. Now it’s back together and back to letting the bees do their thing.

Beeswax candles update!
My youngest and I spent the afternoon testing different wick sizes and learning how each one changes the melt pool, flame height, and burn time.
Making candles isn’t “pour it and forget it”, it’s a full on science experiment.
But we’re getting closer. And honestly… I’m loving doing this together. 🐝💛

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. This year I’m thankful for family, healthy bees, small-batch harvests, local farmers who share their land, and every single person who chooses to support a little family apiary in Lilburn Georgia.
Your support lets me keep caring for the bees and keeping good, honest honey flowing in our community.
Hope your day is full of warmth, family, and something sweet. 🍯🦃

Even in November, our honeybees keep busy!
Watch this little pollinator hop flower to flower on rosemary. Every bloom counts.

Last Mississippi Honey for 2025.
Out in the bee yard with my dad. 83 years old and still out here keeping bees like it’s nothing.
I’m grateful for every chance to work beside him.

Most people slow down at 83, but not him. He’s still driven by the same purpose that’s guided him all these years: to help the honey bees and leave something meaningful behind.
Watching him out there, calm under the stars while we move hives reminded me where my own love for bees really came from. It’s not just about honey, it’s about heart, patience, and purpose.

Love you dad.

🍯 Is honey a better choice for those on GLP-1 medications?
With more Americans using GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, many are rethinking their sugar intake. While honey still contains natural sugars, it’s less processed and offers trace nutrients and antioxidants you won’t find in refined sugar.
At Henning Honey, we always say: a little honey goes a long way. When used mindfully, it can be a natural way to add sweetness without the empty calories of table sugar.
👉 Remember: honey isn’t “sugar-free,” but it’s a wholesome, natural alternative when you want real flavor from real bees.

🎃 Spooky season isn’t just for the bees…
The American Bee Journal just ran an article by Mickey Anderson about Joro spiders, and I think they’ve moved into my bee yard too 👀🕷️

These bright yellow spiders are showing up all over Georgia this fall and apparently, they’re here to stay.
I caught these webs on the front of my truck after heading out to check the hives.

Anyone else dealing with Joro spiders around their bee yards this year?

We produce only 20% of the honey we eat in the U.S. the rest is imported, often from overseas.
Every jar you buy from a local beekeeper keeps pollinators healthy, supports farmers, and helps us depend less on imports.
Local honey = a win for bees 🐝, a win for farmers 🌱, and a win for YOU 🙌.
