The last litter…these little boogers are just over 2wks old and will be ready to move to new homes in abt 2 months providing they are show quality. Yes there is an albino in the litter so that one will be getting culled.

Sun. was the 4-H club awards and end of year mtg. To say we were upset and disappointed is an understatement. The one award that Ava wanted the most from the club she didn’t get. Yet she poured herself into not only the club for the 8yrs she was a member but also the organization for 12yrs. The person this award was named for held a special place in her heart and I know she believed that she honored her dedication and service to the 4-H community. She constantly helped others and showed up even when she was having a medically bad day. She helped with set up and tear down of the barn to the best of her ability within the limitations her chronic illness sets. Yet once again she was left feeling like all she did wasn’t enough. So we have collectively decided to step away from
4-H and I will no longer be an advisor and we are going to start getting out of rabbits. As one person directly related to this award once said…”There comes a time when you need 4-H and then that time changes to when 4-H needs you.” Ava felt she lived that but feels that 4-H doesn’t need her as bad b/c she feels she will always be on the outside looking in no matter how hard she tries.

Well fair has come and gone. Everyone is home and settling back in. It’s sad to know that this chapter has closed but it’s not over.
No I don’t own the rights to this music.

This is Batty she was one of the orphans we had raised starting at 2 wks old. Her and her sister are like dogs and they come when they are called and they love being snuggled in the way they used to be after their bottle feedings.

Hard to believe tomorrow is the final day of fair closing the chapter on Ava’s 4-H career. We have had our highs and lows and made incredible memories along the way. As much as fair week stress me out I’m going to miss it. Don’t worry we aren’t saying goodbye to the buns we have 5 litters due in Sept. and we plan to continue showing.
