Pumpkins are planted! 🎃

Tony and I spent the day planting six long rows of pumpkins—about 1½ acres.

We planted a wonderful assortment including giant carving pumpkins, classic Halloween pumpkins, Cinderella pumpkins, white flat pumpkins, white popcorn pumpkins, and some of our favorite warty pumpkins with their colorful green and yellow bumps.

Every seed holds the promise of fall at Alderwood Farm.

Now we wait for sunshine, rain, and a little growing magic.

We can’t wait to see what emerges from the field in the months ahead!

🌧️ Rainy Day on the Farm…

The rain is certainly welcome, but it will likely be a few days before we can get back into the fields and continue our farm work. For today, the tractors are taking a break while the raindrops do their work.

It’s the perfect kind of day to stay cozy and let a pot of homemade beef stew simmer on the stove. There’s nothing quite like the aroma of a hearty meal filling the house while the rain falls outside.
