From Farmall to John Deere…all in one afternoon! 🌾🚜

After a special trip to the Acton Fair parade with his restored 1956 Farmall 230, Tony came home and headed straight back to the hayfield.

As Aaron pointed out, Dad not only had to change tractor brands—from Farmall to John Deere—he even changed his new International hat for his much used John Deere one! 😂

Parade or no parade, when the hay is ready, it’s time to bale.

A special day for Tony at the Acton Fair! 🚜

After a lot of time and work, Tony finally finished refurbishing his 1956 Farmall 230 and was able to take it to the Acton Fair for the parade.

This was Tony’s first time participating in a tractor parade, and he was pretty pleased to finally be driving his finished project through the fairgrounds!

And for a little extra good luck, he added the wheel weights that his father had once used on a 1948 Farmall C. ❤️ That made this first trip to the parade just a little more special.

Sometimes the sweetest moments are the ones you don’t plan. ❤️
While visiting the shoppe this afternoon, my cousin Jeff, his wife Kathy and I looked outside and spotted Reese with her horse. When Reese settled down in the grass with her book while her horse grazed nearby, it was just too idyllic not to capture.
Kathy quickly went to the car for her camera—and I’m so glad she did.
A Saturday afternoon at Alderwood Farm…a good book, your horse beside you, and a peach tree heavy with peaches. 🍑🐴📖

Has anyone ever heard of a “Genie” 17 oz Pie Crust Mix? I found a pumpkin/Squash pie recipe where my Grandmother LePage referenced the Genie Pie Crust Mix. Whether she only used the squash recipe and her own pie crust mix, I do not know. I found this ad in a 1947 Oregon tribune. Maybe it was just a small company that was bought out by a larger company such as Pillsbury?
