Keep them warm!
When below freezing temps occur, cattle will eat between 10%-30% more to maintain their body temperature.
When falling below 0, they can consume 40%-50% more per day.
Cattle take in between 2%-3% of hay per day (27-35 lbs based on a 1,200 lb cow) to maintain their body condition through the winter.
A little extra goes a long way for these animals!
