For me it was grabbing a slice after a show at Dante's from lonesome's or walking to 23rd for Escape from New York Pizza. Sitting at Rocco's or Sizzle Pie before a show. Grabbing a slice with friends meant hitting pause on whatever chaos life was throwing, laughing too loud, and feeling like the night could go anywhere. It was the taste of Portland before the city ever tried to polish itself. It meant stories, inside jokes, late nights, and feeling like the city itself had pulled up a chair at the table with us.Pizza wasn’t just food back then—it was culture, community, and a damn good excuse to stretch the night a little longer. Here is to the bands and spots that built the sound track to our life. For me I'll never forget waiting at Rocco's to go see Dead Moon or 800 octane. Grabbing a slice at Dante's while seeing the Casualties. Share a story we all have one.
