Borinski Farms

Borinski Farms Your Farm For All Seasons! In the early 1920s, Andrew and Catherine Borinski moved to Lincoln Park. In 2006, we officially became a Preserved Farm. John Jr.

With close to 90 acres, Catherine decided she wanted to plant a few vegetables for her family. Both from farming families in Poland, they knew how to work the land well. The wound up with so many vegetables that Andrew decided to borrow a friends wagon and would go from house to house selling produce. Realizing after one day he could support his family by farming alone, they decided to become full

time farmers. With the help of his 5 children, George, John, Stephen, Andrew and Kate they faced the years of hard work ahead of them together. As the years went on the 4 brothers ran the farm after the passing of their father. In 1940 they built a new barn and became known as Borinski Brothers. They were truck farmers who would sell their produce to local stores and would go to the Paterson Farmers Market. Over the years grandchildren would be there to help out on weekends and summer breaks. Work seemed to slow a little with all the grandkids wanting tractor rides, but no one seemed to mind to stop what they were doing for the kids! In 1996 Johnโ€™s grandson Drew took over the remaining 44 acres of the farm after stepping down from his position of Manager of the Paterson Farmers Market. After his father Andy retired from 30 years as a National Produce Buyer for Grand Union, he joined Drew on the Farm and they both worked full time to keep up with the work. Little by little things were added to the farm; new greenhouses, more products. On weekends in the Spring and early Fall, you can still find the Borinskisโ€™ at the Paterson Farmers Market. spent countless hours filling out all the necessary paperwork and applications. It was worth the effort because this is something that we feel strongly about and worked hard to obtain. By becoming a Preserved Farm, this means that our farm will always be farmland and will remain in our family. We feel that land conservancy is important to the state of New Jersey; after all, we are the Garden State! In April of 2007, we had our barn restored, new windows, siding and roof. For being 67 years old, it was in pretty good shape otherwise! The Brothers really knew what they were doing. We know that they would be pleased with the improvements we have made. And keep stopping by โ€“ thereโ€™s more to come! So as you can see, over 80 years a lot as changed here at Borinski Farms, but some things are still the same; our hard work, our excellent products and customer service!
