SherRockee Mushroom Farms was founded in 1981 by Charles Ciarrocchi, Sr. and his sons James "Jamie" Ciarrocchi and Charles "Chuck" Ciarrocchi, Jr. Jamie and Chuck come from a long line of mushroom farmers and grew up in the industry. C, kept watch over the boys as they began doing things "their own way" here at SherRockee. SherRockee Mushroom Farms has expanded several times over the years. We now

have 32 mushroom house, or doubles that grow white mushrooms. The houses are on a 7-week cycle, from filling the house with compost to picking mushrooms, then cleaning out the house and starting all over. We complete the cycle 4 1/2 times per year. Enlisting different types of spawn, different methods of growing, and experimenting, SherRockee has done well, growing over 8 pounds of mushrooms for each square foot of growing space. That's a lot of mushrooms. We opened Rockee's Mushroom Outlet in October 1997 more as a courtesy to our neighbors than an entrepreneurial endeavor. And we were shocked when it took off at a lightning pace. Our little store has had sales grow tremendously every year. There aren't too many places where you can buy fresh mushrooms from the farm, even though we're in the Mushroom Capitol of the World. We're pleased to bring you several kinds of mushrooms at wholesale prices. We offer free recipes as well as tips on how to freeze, marinate and prepare mushrooms. Rockee's is open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday 8-4
