Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary is a working farm and wildlife sanctuary all in one! On our 206-acre property, you’ll find farm animals and native wildlife to visit, trails to hike, the Mass Audubon Shop, and a sustainable farming at work, complete with seasonal CSA programs and farmstand products for sale.

The night before our all-day fall festival, we've got something spooky in store... 🦇

Come out after-hours for Campfires and Critters on Friday, October 23 from 6:00-8:30 pm! Listen to tales by the fire as you roast marshmallows for s'mores, meet an owl and other creatures of the night, take a walk on the eerie wooded trail, and more.

Big news—we've got some special new residents on the farm 🐴

Please give a warm welcome to Vinny and Martin, our miniature Donkeys! The two are around 6 months old. Vinny is chocolate brown and a bit larger than Martin, who is gray dun.

Why Donkeys? Historically, miniature donkeys served as versatile agricultural workers on the Mediterranean Islands of Sicily and Sardinia. These two will eventually join our educational programs, teaching young people about equine care. They are settling in at the Red Barn, and after they get accustomed to their surroundings, they will also be out and about in the fields.

Come by and say hi, and make sure to see them at our upcoming Fall-oween event!

Think this looks just like any other Little Brown Bird? Think again 🐤

This Grasshopper Sparrow was captured by birding instructor Kathy Dia down in the fields. The last time this species was recorded at Drumlin Farm was in 2005!

Fall sparrows have been quite busy around the sanctuary, with Savannah, Song, and Chipping sparrows feeding in the crops fields. We've also recently seen Dickcissel, Philadelphia Vireo, Sharp-shinned Hawk, and a whole lot of warblers. What fall birds have you seen lately?

Red-tailed Hawks like Scarlett at Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary are nothing short of iconic ✨

September is prime time for hawk migration as they hitch a ride on wind currents to their more southern wintering grounds. The best spots to watch them are high spots with a clear view and open sky (like the top of the drumlin!)

Raptors like Red-tailed Hawks are unfortunately under threat due to harmful rodenticides that poison their prey. Learn more about these majestic birds, and what you can do to help protect them, at massaudubon.org/gowildforhawks
